About the role: Basedin Tübingen, our new Senior Manager - Group Sales and Commercial Excellence will be responsible for defing and enforcing a group-wide sales steering framework across all regions and entities. The role ensures transparency, performance comparability, and target-oriented steering of sales activities in a highly decentralized organization.

What You Will Do

  • Define and own group-wide frameworks for sales performance, profitability steering, KPIs, dashboards and targets. 
  • Shape and evolve global commercial and go‑to‑market strategies across segments, channels, and business units. 
  • Develop group concepts for distribution, e.g. channel expansion, customer segmentation, churn prevention, product prioritization.
  • Establish standardized pipelines, sales funnel and forecasting logic across all entities. 
  • Define governance for sales reporting, planning cycles, target-setting and incentives. 
  • Ensure sales steering processes support transparency, comparability and consistency across regions.
  • Analyze global sales performance, customer behavior, commercial formats and market trends; identify growth levers and risks in collaboration with the legal entities.
  • Monitor performance deviations and recommend counteractive measures. 
  • Prepare high-impact board-level presentations and strategic analyses.
  • Act as a central counterpart for Managing Directors of the legal entities, Head of Sales, and Marketing.
  • Coordinate and facilitate cross-country sales reviews and group market approach. 
  • Drive alignment between group strategy and local execution.
  • Lead and oversee global sales development programs, process improvement initiatives, and commercial excellence projects.

What You Bring

  • Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Strategy, or a related field.
  • 7–10+ years of experience in Sales Development, Commercial Excellence, Sales Steering, Strategy Consulting, Business Development or Consulting.
  • Proven success in international, multi‑entity environments.
  • Experience in B2B distribution, solar/renewables, or technical wholesale is an advantage.
  • Expertise in sales steering, performance management, data‑driven decision‑making.
  • Strong capabilities in forecasting, KPI design, funnel management, BI tools, and advanced Excel.
  • Experience in developing GTM strategies and commercial frameworks.
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management across countries and seniority levels.
  • Fluent in English; German is a plus.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to challenge, execute, and drive performance and organizational change.
  • Strong BI tool proficiency (Power BI, Tableau or similar).
  • Advanced Excel; ERP familiarity is an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel 30–40% across Europe for regional reviews, consulting, and workshops.
