About the role: The Commercial Performance Manager supports the CSO Office by delivering high‑quality commercial insights, enabling data‑driven decision‑making, and strengthening global sales steering across a decentralized organization. The role builds transparency in pricing, margins, sales, and customer profitability and provides scenario modeling and performance forecasting to guide commercial measures. Success in this role requires close collaboration with Regional MDs, Head of Sales, regional Sales teams, Finance and BI teams to ensure consistent execution, aligned commercial governance, and impactful measures and recommendations. Success is measured by sales & margin growth, accuracy of forecasts, dashboard reliability and contribution to commercial performance improvements.

What You Will Do

  •  Build, refine, and maintain comprehensive commercial performance analyses across sales, margins and pricing to support data‑driven commercial steering.
  • Prepare recurring and ad‑hoc analytical reports for the CSO Office, sales and margin steering teams, delivering clear insights and Cause‑of‑Change explanations for senior stakeholders.
  • Develop, enhance sales, margin, and pricing measures to ensure profitability, transparency, standardization, and benchmarking across regions and legal entities
  • Conduct scenario analyses (e.g., counteractive measures, price changes, discount strategies, product‑mix shifts, share of wallet measures) and support sales initiatives through data-based preparation and simulations.
  • Analyze customer, product, and channel profitability to identify commercial value drivers and opportunities for margin improvement.
  • Maintain clean, reliable, and harmonized commercial data models to support consistent reporting and commercial governance.
  • Monitor compliance with sales guidelines, supporting group‑wide governance, and process adherence.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with Sales, Procurement, Operations, and BI to ensure alignment on data definitions, reporting standards, and commercial methodologies.
  • Support global processes (S&OP Planning) by preparing accurate revenue, margin, and volume projections.
  • Provide insights for presentations, strategy reviews, and commercial decision‑making moments at steering meetings and management reviews. 

What You Bring

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Business Development, Economics, Analytics, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Consulting, Controlling, Commercial Analytics, or a similar sales analytics function.
  • Hands‑on experience working with complex commercial datasets (e.g., sell‑in/sell‑out, inventory, mix, pricing) and turning them into actionable insights
  • Strong analytical skillset, including scenario modeling, pricing analytics, and profitability analysis.
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Power BI; experience with additional BI tools and digital collaboration platforms is a plus.
  • The ability to translate complex data into clear, impactful recommendations for senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain trends, root causes, and commercial implications (“the why”).
  • A structured, detail‑oriented working style paired with strong business acumen.
  • Fluency in English; German is an advantage
  • Experience in sales and/or familiarity with the solar, renewable energy, or technical wholesale sector—a strong plus.
