Internationally, BayWa r.e.’s PV wholesale business operates in Europe, North and Central America as well as the APAC region. In the Iberian market, we carry a wide range of high-quality products in our portfolio, have strategic global framework agreements with most leading brands and have a proprietary mounting system (novotegra) and design tool solution (Solar Planit).
About the role
BayWa r.e. Solar Systems SLU, the representative of BayWa r.e.’s Solar Trade division in the Iberian Peninsula, is seeking a commercially driven professional based in Portugal to support the growth of the Iberian market. The selected candidate will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, strengthening the regional partner network, and contributing to the expansion of photovoltaic solar solutions in the country.
What You Will Do
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and expand a regional network of specialized installers and project designers for self-consumption solar solutions (residential and industrial).
- Lead the quotation, proposal, and commercial negotiation process for new projects.
- Act as a technical reference point for clients, investors, and the internal sales team.
- Identify and onboard new commercial partners to accelerate growth beyond the existing customer base.
- Advise management and marketing on market dynamics, customer needs, and emerging opportunities in your region.
- Contribute to product and procurement strategy as part of the new business development team.
- Collaborate closely with Operations and Key Account Managers, transferring established accounts and focusing on generating new business opportunities.
What You Bring
YOUR PROFILE:
- University degree, preferably in engineering, business administration, or economics.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the photovoltaic solar energy sector, with strong technical expertise.
- A well-established network within the solar industry, project development, construction, or electricity retail sectors.
- Excellent communication skills, with a high degree of autonomy and initiative.
- Passion for renewable energy and enthusiasm for joining a young and professional team.
- Background in technical service or commercial roles, with the desire to expand your expertise in both areas.
- Strong command of MS Office and familiarity with ERP/CRM systems such as SAP, NetSuite, and/or Salesforce.
- Good level of spoken and written English and Spanish preferred.
